One of the key members of the Brazilian team is\u00a0Matheus Santiago, who joined Special Piping Materials at the beginning of 2025 as a Business Developer. With a decade of experience in international business development, Matheus brings valuable expertise in fostering client relationships and identifying growth opportunities.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

    Can you give us an overview of your career so far?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I have\u00a010 years of experience\u00a0in\u00a0business development, working across various markets in\u00a0Africa and Latin America (LATAM). My key strengths lie in\u00a0communication\u00a0and leveraging my global experience to build strong relationships and drive business growth in diverse regions.<\/p>\n

      What\u2019s your favourite (and least favourite) day-to-day task?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      My\u00a0favourite task\u00a0is\u00a0engaging with customers\u00a0and helping them find the best solutions for their needs. I really enjoy building relationships and ensuring they get the most value from our services.<\/p>\n

      As for my\u00a0least favourite task, I would say the occasional administrative work\u2014while necessary, it can sometimes take time away from the more dynamic aspects of my role.<\/p>\n

        What made you want to work for SPM?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        I have always been passionate about\u00a0working with diverse cultures, as I believe it fosters professional development and\u00a0innovative thinking. Given SPM\u2019s strong global presence and its reputation in the piping industry, it felt like the perfect fit for me.<\/p>\n

          What is your focus at the moment in your role?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Right now, my main focus is on\u00a0strengthening and expanding our relationships\u00a0with Brazilian clients while also exploring new market opportunities across\u00a0South America. The goal is to drive growth, increase sales, and support new clients with\u00a0high-quality piping solutions.<\/p>\n

            What are the big piping trends at the moment in your region?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Currently, there are exciting\u00a0new opportunities\u00a0in the region, with major players entering the market. In\u00a0Brazil, FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) projects are creating new demands for specialist piping solutions. Meanwhile, in\u00a0Chile, the booming\u00a0mineral sector\u00a0presents significant potential for growth and collaboration within the piping industry.<\/p>\n

              What are the priorities for the Brazilian sales team at the moment?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Our\u00a0top priority\u00a0is to continue expanding our presence in Brazil while ensuring we offer the\u00a0best solutions tailored to our customers\u2019 needs. Growth, efficiency, and\u00a0excellent customer service\u00a0remain at the heart of our strategy.<\/p>\n

                What does your typical day look like?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                My days are filled with\u00a0client meetings, preparing new\u00a0presentations, and engaging with customers through\u00a0phone calls, WhatsApp, in-person meetings, and web conferences. I also spend time planning business trips to high-potential regions, aligning with our\u00a0competitive strategy\u00a0to maximise growth opportunities.<\/p>\n

                  What do you think the future holds for the piping world?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  The\u00a0piping industry\u00a0has a bright future, with ongoing advancements in\u00a0materials, technology, and sustainability. We will continue to see growth in\u00a0emerging markets, particularly in\u00a0South America, as infrastructure projects develop. Sustainability and\u00a0efficiency\u00a0will be key drivers shaping the industry’s future.<\/p>\n

                    What keeps you motivated at work each day?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    I\u2019m fortunate to be part of such a\u00a0driven and skilled team, where everyone is committed to\u00a0solving challenges and supporting one another. Knowing that I am surrounded by professionals who inspire me daily motivates me to\u00a0always do my best\u00a0for the\u00a0SPM family.<\/strong><\/p>\n

                      How do you relax after a hard day\u2019s work in the office?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                      After a long day, I like to\u00a0do sports at the beach, which helps me\u00a0clear my mind and stay active. I also enjoy having a\u00a0good meal with my wife, which is the perfect way to\u00a0recharge.<\/p>\n

                        If you had to choose another office around the world to work in, which would it be and why?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                        If I had to pick another location, I would love to work in\u00a0Australia\u00a0because of its\u00a0amazing work-life balance. However, if we had the opportunity to open a\u00a0new SPM office, I would be excited about\u00a0Chile. The\u00a0mineral market is thriving, and the country has\u00a0immense business potential.<\/p>\n
